Samsung is continuing its rapid rollout of the December 2025 security update, expanding coverage to a wider range of budget and mid-range devices. The latest wave of updates has landed on the Galaxy M55, Galaxy A26, Galaxy A07, and Galaxy A04s, focusing primarily on system hardening and stability improvements.

Galaxy M55 The update began reaching Galaxy M55 users yesterday in markets including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Identified by firmware version M556BXXS4CYL1, the package weighs in at approximately 430 MB. According to Samsung’s changelog, this patch addresses 68 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners. While it brings no new features, it is essential for maintaining device security and performance.

Galaxy A26 & Galaxy A07 The Galaxy A26 also joins the list, with the update currently live in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the UAE under firmware version A266BXXS6BYL1. A broader rollout to other regions is expected soon.

Meanwhile, the newly released Galaxy A07 is receiving its third update since hitting store shelves. Users in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam can now download the update, which carries the firmware version A075FXXS2BYL1.

Galaxy A04s Finally, the aging Galaxy A04s is picking up the new security patch in Malaysia and Vietnam (firmware A047FXXSDEYL1). Unlike the other devices on this list, the A04s remains on Android 14 as it has reached the end of its major OS upgrade cycle.

Looking Ahead: One UI 8.5 Samsung is reportedly on track to launch stable One UI 8.5 alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. Based on Android 16 QPR2, this major update is likely to arrive on eligible devices like the Galaxy M55, A26, and A07 within the first half of 2026.
