Just days after pushing its latest software to the 5G variant, Samsung is already bringing the One UI 8.5 update to its budget-friendly Galaxy A16 4G. The move highlights the South Korean tech giant’s aggressive push to deliver its latest platform to more affordable devices.
Alongside the A16 4G, the Galaxy M16 (known as the Galaxy Wide 8 in its home market) is also officially slated for the upgrade. As is tradition, South Korean users will get the first taste of the update before Samsung expands the rollout globally.
So, what’s new? This update is all about buttery-smooth performance and deep personalization. Users are getting a fresh batch of photo color filters, new live wallpapers, and unique clock styles for the lock screen. On top of that, the battery management dashboard has been completely redesigned. It’s now much more intuitive, making it easier to track your power drain and charging status at a glance.
Samsung has also sprinkled in some clever, practical tweaks to its default apps. The Weather app now features a rainfall tracking chart, your morning alarm can display a background that matches the actual weather outside, and the world clock tool has been redesigned for better usability. Power users will also appreciate the ability to freely rearrange action buttons on the Quick Panel or draw charts directly within Samsung Notes.
How to get it: You can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the notification hasn't popped up yet, hang tight—it might take a few days before the official release hits the Vietnamese market.
