Samsung is kicking its software development into high gear, releasing the third beta of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. This latest update isn't just about squashing bugs; it brings a fresh wave of Galaxy AI enhancements designed to elevate the everyday user experience.
Currently rolling out to beta testers in South Korea, the update weighs in at a hefty 800MB. Galaxy Z Flip 6 owners can look out for firmware version F741NKSU3ZZDD, while Z Fold 6 users will receive version F956NKSU3ZZDD.
The real headline here is the expansion of Galaxy AI. Beta 3 introduces Call Screening, a smart tool designed to automatically handle calls from unknown numbers, alongside Creative Studio for a more intuitive visual content creation process. Existing features are also getting a welcome boost: Audio Eraser now boasts improved background noise filtering, while Photo Assist promises a more natural and flexible photo editing workflow.
Beyond the flashy AI additions, Samsung has been busy under the hood. This build addresses several lingering issues from previous betas, including an annoying screen flicker at the bottom edge during back gestures, a misaligned lock screen clock, and a stubborn taskbar that refused to auto-hide. Users should also notice significantly improved audio quality when streaming music or video.
For those already enrolled in the One UI 8.5 Beta program, grabbing the update is straightforward. Simply navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
While currently limited to the South Korean market, Samsung is expected to expand the Beta 3 rollout to other regions shortly. Although an official timeline remains under wraps, the stable release of One UI 8.5 could arrive as early as next month.
