Samsung has just released the first software update for the Galaxy A17 – a low-cost 5G smartphone launched last month. The update brings the September 2025 security patch with many important system security improvements.

According to recorded information, this patch has version number A176BXXS2AYI4, is about 250MB in size, and has now started to be deployed in India. Although it does not add new features, the update fixes more than 80 security vulnerabilities related to Android and One UI, and may include a bootloader upgrade to increase the safety of the device.

The Galaxy A17 is one of the rare low-cost smartphones that Samsung has committed to supporting 6 major operating system versions and 6 years of security updates, on par with high-end lines. The device launched with One UI 7 and will soon be upgraded to One UI 8 later this year.

Galaxy A17 users can check and install the new update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install to ensure the device always operates safely and stably.
