
The newest addition to Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup will likely run on the company’s in-house 2nm Exynos processor in most international markets.
Samsung is reportedly planning to introduce a new "Galaxy S27 Pro" model to its premium smartphone roster early next year. Positioned as a compact device with Ultra-level performance, the Pro variant is expected to feature a massive battery and a dedicated telephoto camera. However, recent leaks suggest the device will be powered by an Exynos chipset rather than a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in the majority of global markets.
According to reports from South Korean media, Samsung is actively seeking to increase the adoption rate of its proprietary components in its mobile devices. Consequently, the company has decided to equip the Galaxy S27 Pro with the unannounced Exynos 2700 chip in all regions outside of North America.
Consumers in Asia, Europe, and Latin America will receive the Exynos-powered variant, while the US and Canadian markets will retain the Snapdragon processor, maintaining Samsung's traditional dual-chip strategy.
The Exynos 2700 is reportedly Samsung's second-generation mobile processor built on a 2nm process. The chip is designed by the company's System LSI division and manufactured on Samsung Foundry's cutting-edge SF2P node.
To tackle thermal management, the new architecture will reportedly utilize advanced parallel packaging, placing the processor and RAM side-by-side on a single plane. This entire component system will be encased in specialized thermal materials to accelerate heat dissipation during intensive workloads.
Alongside the Pro version, the standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ models are also expected to transition to the Exynos 2700 in several key regions. Meanwhile, the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to be the only device in the lineup to exclusively retain the Snapdragon processor on a global scale.
