Samsung has just announced the August 2025 security patch for Galaxy devices. This update addresses a total of 47 security vulnerabilities discovered in the systems of Google, Samsung, and related partners. The rollout has started with the Galaxy A56 and will expand to other devices in the coming days.

Samsung said that monthly patches are intended to protect Galaxy devices against newly discovered risks. In the August update, there are 28 critical bugs related to the Android operating system and one vulnerability with the highest severity level. There are no patches related to Exynos chips this month, meaning no vulnerabilities in the processor have been reported.

In addition to the patches from Google, Samsung also addressed 18 separate security vulnerabilities (SVEs) that only affect Galaxy devices, including phones, tablets, and smartwatches. Android devices from other brands are not affected by these SVEs. Some details have been made public by Samsung to increase transparency and strengthen user trust.

One of the critical bugs fixed was related to Samsung Account, which allowed an attacker with local access to shut down a user account. In addition, several vulnerabilities in the Galaxy Watch were also patched, including SemSensorService, which manages motion sensors and fall detection features.

These bugs could have allowed unauthorized access to sensitive data related to movement, sleep, and outdoor workouts. Another vulnerability that allowed access to the device identifier was also blocked. The patch also addresses issues in components such as Document Scanner, PkgPredictorService, and Emergency SOS.

Users can check and install the latest patch in Settings > Software update > Download and install. In the meantime, Samsung is also preparing to release the stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 series and many other devices in the coming weeks.
