Samsung is speeding up the completion of One UI 8 based on Android 16 to prepare for the official release. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to be the first devices to launch with the new software version at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. However, mid-range models have also started to be included in the testing list, and the Galaxy A16 5G is the next name.
According to the latest information, Samsung is currently testing the One UI 8 build for the Galaxy A16 5G in Europe with the software code A166BXXU3CYF5. Just a few hours earlier, the Galaxy A15 was also recorded to have started similar testing. This shows that Samsung is preparing to deploy One UI 8 to more devices as soon as the stable version is introduced with the new flagship line.
One UI 8 brings many notable improvements compared to its predecessor. Although there are no major changes to the interface, the new version focuses on upgrading the user experience, improving performance, and ensuring smoothness during use. Some notable features include a flexible 90:10 split-screen ratio, expanded options in Samsung Routines, and a collection of live wallpapers.
Currently, the One UI 8 beta testing program has been deployed for the Galaxy S25 series, with three updates released. Samsung has not yet confirmed whether mid-range models like the A16 will participate in the beta program, but at the current pace, users can completely expect a stable update to arrive sooner than expected.
