Samsung is preparing to add a brand new feature called Alerts Center in One UI 8. This feature is expected to significantly improve the security and privacy capabilities of Galaxy devices, surpassing the dashboards that Google has built into Android.

Alerts Center will continuously monitor and send notifications related to app access. Users will receive warnings when an app uses sensitive permissions such as the camera, microphone, location, or contacts, especially when these actions take place in the background. In case an app uses access too frequently or unusually, the system will suggest users to review and adjust the app's permissions. Even apps marked as "trusted" will be checked if there are changes in access rights after an update.

In addition to privacy warnings, Alerts Center also acts as an overall security dashboard. It will alert users when it detects outdated software, malicious apps, or improperly secured Samsung and Google accounts. It will also remind users to enable biometric security, activate Find My Mobile if location tracking is disabled, and allow users to directly address issues right in the notification panel.

Alerts Center first appeared in the third beta of One UI 8 that Samsung recently released. Although it is still in the testing phase, it is likely that the feature will be finalized and officially appear in upcoming updates, when One UI 8 is stable on eligible devices in the next few months.
