Good news for Galaxy users: Samsung has officially closed the One UI 8 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S25 series and started rolling out the stable update. Testers in Korea are the first group to receive this update, while the global release could happen at any time.

The stable One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 in Korea has the build number BYI3, bringing the final version of Android 16. For the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is in Beta 6, the OTA package weighs in at around 555MB. However, for devices that have not participated in the beta, the update size can exceed 3GB.

This is the first major Android/One UI update out of a total of 7 software upgrades that the Galaxy S25 series will receive. Not only the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra trio launched in January, but the Galaxy S25 Edge launched in May will also be updated at the same time, although it is not participating in the beta program.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 FE launched earlier this month, has One UI 8 pre-installed and is also on the list of devices supported for 7 years of software updates. This means the S25 FE will be upgraded with one more version of One UI compared to the remaining S25 models.

If you are using a Galaxy S25, be ready because this major update can come at any time. You can check by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Thanks to the seamless update mechanism, the device will automatically install in the background, and you just need to restart to experience One UI 8 right away.
