Samsung continues to improve the photography experience on Galaxy devices with the One UI 8 update. One of the notable changes is the addition of a quick swipe gesture right in the Camera interface, helping users control more flexibly and intuitively.

Accordingly, One UI 8 will allow users to use swipe gestures in two main directions: horizontal and vertical. By default, the vertical swipe gesture will switch between the front and rear cameras. However, users can customize this gesture to open quick settings if desired. This swipe gesture works in both front and rear camera modes, and can be completely turned off if not needed.

Previously, with One UI 7, Samsung refined the Camera interface to optimize display space, limit distracting elements, and push important options to the bottom for easier operation. With the addition of gesture controls in One UI 8, the photography experience on the Galaxy promises to become more flexible and modern.

One UI 8 is currently in beta, and the Galaxy S25 series is the first device to join the beta program. The quick swipe feature in the Camera app is expected to appear on more Galaxy models in upcoming updates.
