Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 this month with One UI 8 pre-installed. However, the company has yet to announce plans to officially roll out the interface to existing Galaxy devices. Apart from a limited test run for the Galaxy S25 series, no other models have been updated yet. However, a recent comment from a Samsung forum admin has revealed positive news: the update based on Android 16 could be released in early August.
In a post sharing new features related to the camera and the Gallery app, the Samsung admin said that the new Galaxy Enhance-X features will start being available for other devices after July 30. This suggests that One UI 8 will most likely be rolled out to older Galaxy models in late July or early August.
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be the first group of devices to receive the stable update. Currently, One UI 8 beta has been tested in some markets such as the US, UK, India, Germany, Poland, and South Korea. The official update is likely to be released simultaneously early next month. Although the Galaxy S25 Edge is not participating in the beta program, it will also be updated at the same time as the other three flagship models.
One UI 8 brings many notable improvements, especially in the field of camera and photo editing. Users will have more advanced editing tools thanks to the Galaxy Enhance-X application, AI features to enhance photo quality, reduce noise, suggest smart arrangement in the library, and many other utilities. If it starts to be released in August, Samsung can expand One UI 8 to most eligible devices by the end of September.
Users can proactively check for updates in Settings > Software update > Download and install, or wait for a notification when the update appears on their Galaxy device.
