While the One UI 8.5 Beta testing program may be delayed, that doesn't mean Samsung is slowing down. In fact, over the past few weeks, multiple One UI 8.5 firmware builds for the Galaxy S25 Ultra have been spotted online, suggesting that development is progressing steadily.
After being spotted on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in September and again this month, One UI 8.5 has now appeared on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE, according to information discovered by leakster Tarun Vats from Samsung's servers. This suggests that the company is expanding testing of the new operating system to the entire foldable lineup.
In particular, the fact that the Galaxy Z Flip FE – the more affordable model – also has One UI 8.5 firmware is a notable detail. The device shares the same Exynos chip as the Galaxy S24 and S24+, suggesting that Samsung is also finalizing One UI 8.5 for last year's Galaxy S generation.
Samsung has already impressed with the faster-than-expected release of One UI 8 (Android 16), so it seems that the company is looking to maintain the same pace for One UI 8.5. However, the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, which is said to be delayed to 2026, may affect this update plan somewhat.
However, positive signals from new firmware versions show that Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE users can soon experience a more complete One UI 8.5 version, with an intuitive interface, optimized performance, and many new smart features in the near future.
