Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8.5 rollout for eligible devices. Following the initial software release for its newest flagship models in select regions, a detailed upgrade schedule for the North American market has just leaked, shedding light on when older Galaxy devices will receive the update.

According to tipster @theonecid, the Galaxy S24 series, alongside the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 foldables, are slated to receive One UI 8.5 on Sunday, May 17. Releasing major software updates on a weekend is an unusual move for Samsung, which typically favors weekday rollouts. However, this suggests the tech giant is pushing to accelerate its broad deployment strategy.

Right after this initial batch, older flagships and mid-range devices will be next in line. The leaked schedule indicates that the Galaxy S23 lineup—including the S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE—as well as the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, will all be upgraded on May 23.

Notably, the new mid-range Galaxy A56 is also included in the May 23 rollout wave. Meanwhile, although the Galaxy A37 and A57 are mentioned in the leak, they will likely only receive a routine security patch, as these models presumably ship with a stable version of One UI 8.5 out of the box.

As with previous updates, the One UI 8.5 rollout will occur in phases and will take a few weeks to reach all users globally.
