Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy Watch FE in the US market. Although it does not bring any changes to the interface or features, this patch is considered an important stepping stone before releasing the major One UI 8 Watch update based on Wear OS 6 in the near future.

The update has firmware code R866USQS1AYH1, which comes with the August 2025 security patch, helping to enhance system stability and data security. According to the official notes, Samsung confirmed that this patch focuses on fixing security vulnerabilities and improving overall performance to enhance reliability when using the device.

As the most accessible smartwatch model in the Galaxy ecosystem, the Galaxy Watch FE is developed based on the Galaxy Watch 4 platform, but still retains full health monitoring features such as heart rate measurement, sleep analysis, activity tracking, and smart notification support. The device is also on the list of devices that will be upgraded to One UI 8 Watch, which promises a new interface and more intelligent AI features.

Galaxy Watch FE users can update manually by opening the Galaxy Wearable app on their phone, selecting Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install, then making sure the watch is fully charged and stays connected during the update process.
