Despite still being available for pre-order, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has already started receiving its first software update, a move that shows Samsung is actively perfecting the user experience for its latest foldable device.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 was introduced with many notable upgrades, and surprisingly, Samsung has released the first software update before the device is even on shelves. This update is now available in Samsung's home country of South Korea, with version code F966NKSS2AYG5, and also integrates the July 2025 security patch.

Although it does not bring any outstanding new features, the update focuses on improving system stability and enhancing security. Samsung said that this patch addresses a series of vulnerabilities, making the device more secure against increasingly sophisticated security threats.
In the near future, Samsung is expected to expand the update coverage to many other countries for eligible Galaxy Z Fold 7 models. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 – the vertically folding model – will also receive a similar update soon.
