Samsung is getting closer to the public testing phase of One UI 8.5. New data discovered on the official server shows that the One UI 8.5 beta version for the Galaxy S25 has started to be internally deployed.
The firmware source code ZYKP is currently appearing on the server in Korea and is developed for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. There is no sign of a test version for the Galaxy S25 Edge, suggesting that Samsung will most likely not open the beta program for this model due to its limited user base.
In recent times, a series of leaks have revealed that One UI 8.5 will focus on perfecting the experience rather than changing the interface completely. The update is expected to bring smoother transitions, a streamlined interface, and deeper AI integration into the system, creating a stepping stone before Samsung switches to One UI 9 on Android 17.
While it was previously predicted that the Galaxy S25 would receive beta testing in late November, that timeline has now passed. This raises the possibility that the Galaxy S26 launch schedule will be adjusted, dragging down the entire One UI 8.5 plan. However, the appearance of internal firmware suggests that the public beta is very close.
If there are no major changes, One UI 8.5 will officially launch with the Galaxy S26 in early 2026, before being released to older devices. With the signals that have been revealed, Galaxy S25 users can soon experience the test version in the near future.
