Samsung has just released One UI 8 Beta 2 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, continuing its Android 16 testing program before releasing the stable version. The new update is currently rolling out in Korea and will soon expand to other markets eligible for the beta.
The new firmware version, version ZYI6, for both models comes with the September 2025 security patch and a series of bug fixes. This is a similar improvement package to the one the Galaxy S23 series received, including fixing the random reboot issue and the Samsung DeX settings reset error after upgrading from One UI 7 to One UI 8.
In addition, the update also ensures that the weather app on the Galaxy Watch 7 is synchronized in real time with the smartphone, improves multi-window capabilities for third-party apps, and fixes a crash when using the camera in KakaoTalk chat rooms in split-screen mode.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 beta users can download it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It's unclear whether Samsung will release Beta 3 for the duo, but the company has confirmed that it will release a stable version for the Galaxy S25 and several other devices this month. The Fold 5, Flip 5, and many other Galaxy models are expected to receive One UI 8 officially in October, and most eligible devices will be upgraded before the end of the year.
