Samsung is accelerating the development of One UI 8.5, extending its internal testing program to cover a broader range of premium and semi-premium tablets. Recent server logs indicate that both the newly launched Galaxy Tab S11 series and the older Galaxy Tab S8 lineup have begun surfacing on the company’s test servers.

Specifically, the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra has been spotted running firmware build X930XXU3AYL6, while the standard Galaxy Tab S11 Wi-Fi appeared with build X730XXU3AYL6. Given that the Tab S11 series debuted earlier this September running Android 16-based One UI 8 out of the box, this early testing signals that Samsung is already preparing the next major software leap for its latest flagship tablets.

Samsung isn’t leaving older models behind, either. Testing is now underway for the entire Galaxy Tab S8 family, including the standard Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra. Wi-Fi versions of these devices have been logged with firmware versions matching the pattern X*00XXU9EYL1, popping up on test servers across key markets like India, Europe, South Korea, and Turkey.

As always, the appearance of these test builds doesn't guarantee an immediate rollout. This is a standard internal phase designed to ensure One UI 8.5 is stable on specific hardware configurations before a public release.

This follows earlier reports of One UI 8.5 testing on other models, including the Galaxy Tab S10, Tab S9, and their respective FE (Fan Edition) counterparts. This suggests Samsung is deploying a wide-scale testing strategy for its tablet ecosystem, running parallel to its work on flagship and mid-range smartphones.

If Samsung sticks to its usual roadmap, the stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. A broader rollout to eligible devices will likely follow, with completion expected within the first half of the following year.
