Samsung has just released One UI 8 Watch Beta 2 for the Galaxy Watch 7, instead of releasing One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, or Z Flip 6 as many users expected. The update is currently available to beta program members in Korea and the US – the only two supported markets – and focuses mainly on fixing bugs rather than adding new features.
Samsung launched the One UI 8 Watch beta program for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra a few months ago. While the stable version has been released for the Watch Ultra, the Watch 7 has just received a new beta version with the code ZYH2, which addresses three major bugs.
The first bug is that the watch does not automatically end an outdoor cycling workout even though it has recognized and recorded the workout. The second bug is related to the gesture of raising the wrist to turn on the screen, which does not work after exiting Sleep mode, forcing users to manually operate to see the time. Both of these issues have been fixed in the new beta.
With the LTE version, Samsung also fixed the bug that automatically rejected calls even when the Call Waiting feature was still enabled on the connected smartphone. Now, the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE will handle calls properly even if you are busy on another line.
Depending on the performance of One UI 8 Watch Beta 2 during the actual testing, Samsung will decide when to release a stable version for the Galaxy Watch 7. If there are no serious errors, users can experience the official version soon. It is known that all Galaxy Watch models launched from 2021 onwards are eligible to upgrade to One UI 8 Watch.
