Samsung has officially rolled out its July security patch, with the flagship Galaxy S26 trio being the first smartphones to receive the new update.

Taking an unconventional route this month, the South Korean tech giant prioritized its wearables before turning its attention to phones. The Galaxy Watch 6, 7, 8, and Watch Ultra series have already received their bug fixes across various global markets. Following the smartwatch rollout, Samsung has now shifted its focus back to smartphones, starting with its top-tier devices: the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.

The update is currently live for users in South Korea. As is standard practice, Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to Vietnam and other international markets over the coming days.

To check for the new software, users can navigate to Settings > Software update and tap Download and install. Weighing in at just over 500MB, the patch focuses exclusively on addressing 57 security vulnerabilities to enhance system stability and safety. Consequently, users will not see any visible changes to the interface or existing features.

This swift deployment of bug fixes and system optimizations is largely seen as laying the groundwork for the upcoming One UI 9. The major software overhaul is slated to debut alongside the new generation of foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8—later this month, before making its way to older models in the lineup.
