Samsung is accelerating the rollout of One UI 8 based on Android 16 as more devices are added to the update list. Most recently, the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy A15, and Galaxy A16 series have started receiving this important software upgrade.
The rollout started in South Korea, where the Galaxy A15 is also known as Galaxy Buddy 3 and the Galaxy A16 as Buddy 4. For the Galaxy Tab S9 series, users in other markets can expect to receive the update in the coming days. Meanwhile, the A15 and A16 will have to wait a little longer as the update progress is usually slower than the high-end series.
One UI 8 brings many notable changes, such as a more intuitive interface, smarter customization, and upgraded Galaxy AI features. Large-screen devices take advantage of flexible multitasking, while the lock screen and notification center have more adjustment options. Samsung also enhances security and privacy management, making the daily experience more convenient and safer.
In addition to the interface element, the update also optimizes performance, improves smoothness, and saves battery, ensuring that even low-cost devices like the Galaxy A15 or A16 operate more quickly and stably.
Users can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If you don't see it right away, the system will send a notification when the update is officially available in each region. In the near future, Samsung will continue to expand One UI 8 to many other Galaxy models.
