While the Galaxy Tab S11 series has been the focus of recent leaks, Samsung has been quietly preparing a completely different device – the affordable tablet called the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. The latest information shows that this device is very close to its official launch date.
According to reliable sources such as Mohammed Khatri and @KeepUPwithOneUI, Samsung has started testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. This is the latest version of the company's customized interface, based on Android 16, currently deployed on the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. This also means that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite may skip One UI 7 and go straight to One UI 8 right out of the box.
Testing is currently underway in South Korea, India, Europe, and Vietnam with the software build code X406BXXU1BYH1. Previous certification data shows that the device will have two versions: Wi-Fi and 5G. The processor is equipped with Exynos 1380 - the chip that has appeared on many mid-range Galaxy models such as Galaxy Tab S9 FE and some Galaxy A series phones. The device is said to have 6GB of RAM, enough to meet basic entertainment, learning, and work needs.

It is still unclear how many years of software updates Samsung will commit to for this device, but starting with Android 16 can help the Tab S10 Lite maintain stability and compatibility for a longer time.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is expected to be a reasonable choice for users who do not want to invest too much in the Tab S10 FE line. Notably, Samsung has not released a "Lite" version for the Tab S8 and Tab S9 lines. The most recent Lite model is the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, which was refreshed in 2024 but is essentially just a slight upgrade from the 2022 version.
Therefore, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite can mark the true return of the “Lite” tablet line, not only in terms of price but also in the new software experience right from the first day of opening the box. This will definitely be a notable name in the popular tablet market in the near future.
