Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in the Indian market. This update brings the May 2025 security patch, which enhances device protection.
Earlier in May, the Galaxy S22 series received the One UI 7.0 update based on Android 15, along with the April security patch. With this update, Galaxy S22 users will continue to receive improved security thanks to the latest patches released by Samsung and Google.
Currently, the update has only been released for the international versions of the Galaxy S22 in India with the software version S90xEXXSCFYE3, applicable to models SM-S901E, SM-S906E, and SM-S908E. Users can check and download the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung is expected to roll out the update to more markets and variants in the coming days.
Galaxy S22 series may soon receive Android 16 (One UI 8)
After being criticized for its slow rollout of One UI 7, Samsung seems to be speeding up the release of One UI 8.0 based on Android 16. Google is said to be releasing Android 16 nearly 3 months earlier than usual, which will allow Samsung to launch One UI 8 faster.
The Galaxy S22 series is on the list of devices eligible for the Android 16 and One UI 8 updates. In addition to phones, Samsung is also working on One UI 8.0 Watch based on Wear OS 6 for the Galaxy Watch models. This means Galaxy Watch users can also expect another major software update in the near future.
