Samsung has officially released One UI 8 for the Galaxy Tab A9, marking one of the company's last devices to be upgraded to Android 16. The update is now rolling out in Korea and will expand globally in the coming weeks.
According to the report, the update, code X110XXU6DYK3, comes with the October 2025 security patch, with a size of about 2.5GB. This update not only improves stability but also brings a series of new improvements to the interface, performance, and user experience.
With One UI 8, the Galaxy Tab A9 has a more modern and intuitive interface, smoother motion effects, faster response, AI features, and smart multitasking. Samsung also significantly optimizes the user experience on large screens, allowing for split screens, opening multiple windows in parallel, and handling multitasking more flexibly.
This upgrade feels like a breath of fresh air into Samsung's mid-range tablet, turning the Galaxy Tab A9 into a more efficient device for studying, working, and entertaining.
Users can check for updates by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Once the download is complete, select Install Now. The device will automatically restart and upgrade to One UI 8.
According to the roadmap, the Galaxy Tab A9 will also be updated to One UI 8.5 in early 2026, parallel to the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, before receiving One UI 9 (Android 17) in late 2026. This is proof that Samsung continues to maintain a long-term update policy even with low-cost devices, bringing an increasingly complete experience to users.
