Samsung is gearing up to roll out One UI 8 to its tablets, and the Galaxy Tab A9 is one of them. The good news is that the company has already started internal testing of an Android 16 build with One UI 8 for the tablet.

According to leaker Mohammed Khatri, the One UI 8 build of the Galaxy Tab A9 is currently being tested in India, Europe, and Türkiye, with build number X110XXU5DYI1. There is no word yet on the Galaxy Tab A9+, but it is likely that the device will also enter a similar testing phase in the next few days. This is a familiar process for Samsung, as the company often deploys multiple test builds before releasing a stable version.

A previously leaked update schedule suggests that the Galaxy Tab A9 will receive Android 16 with One UI 8 on November 5, which is near the end of the distribution list. Meanwhile, many other Galaxy Tab models are expected to be upgraded from early October.

In parallel with this process, Samsung is also preparing to launch the Galaxy Tab A11 and Tab A11+ this month. However, the two new models are not expected to have many upgrades, are expected to keep the same processor as the previous generation, and pre-install One UI 7 when sold. Users will have to wait a little longer for One UI 8 for this new series of tablets.
