While the One UI 8 rollout is still on hold due to stability issues, Samsung has been steadily rolling out the October 2025 security patch for its devices. This time, it's the Galaxy S21 series - including the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra - that's getting a new update, which enhances security and maintains stable performance for users.
According to reports, the update with code G99*BXXSHHYJ1 has now been released in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This update package includes more than 30 security patches, fixes many serious vulnerabilities on the Android system and One UI interface, ensuring safer and smoother device operation.
Previously, Samsung released the October patch for the Galaxy S25, S24, and some other mid-range models. The continued expansion of the S21 series, which was launched in 2021, shows Samsung's efforts to maintain long-term support for users even though the device has entered its fourth year.
However, the Galaxy S21 series is no longer on the list of One UI 8 devices and will soon end its update cycle in the first half of 2026. However, the Galaxy S21 FE is still eligible to upgrade to One UI 8 thanks to its longer software support policy.
Galaxy S21 users can install the new patch by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. This is an important step to help the device maintain stable performance and protect against emerging security risks.
Although the support cycle is about to end, the Galaxy S21 is still one of the flagship lines that is highly appreciated for its durability and performance.
