Samsung has just released One UI 8 based on Android 16 for the Galaxy A56 – the company's latest premium mid-range smartphone. Notably, the A56 is not part of the Beta testing program, which only applies to models such as the Galaxy A55, A54, A36, and A35. This means that the remaining devices will also be updated soon.

In Korea, the Galaxy A56 is sold as the Galaxy Quantum 6. The device was launched earlier this year with One UI 7 and has now been officially upgraded to One UI 8 with firmware version A566SKSU2BYI5. Depending on the market, the build number may differ, but the update content remains the same.

The One UI 8 update brings smoother performance, smarter AI, and deeper personalization, allowing users to have better control over the device's interface and experience. From lock screen customization, refreshed app layouts, to productivity tools, everything is optimized to balance everyday convenience with premium features.

In addition, the update on the Galaxy A56 also integrates the September 2025 security patch, increasing the device's protection against potential vulnerabilities. The release is currently limited to South Korea, but Samsung is expected to expand to more markets this week. Users can check manually by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Samsung is also planning to expand One UI 8 to many mid-range and older flagship models. Previously, the company updated the Galaxy S25, S24, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Fold SE to the latest version, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE came with One UI 8 pre-installed right out of the box.
