After high-end devices, Samsung continues to expand the One UI 7 update to low-cost devices. Recently, two popular smartphone models, the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A16, have started receiving the One UI 7 update based on Android 15.
Currently, users in Korea are the first to experience this new software version. According to the Samsung user community, the Galaxy A15 is receiving an update with the firmware code BYD5 with the March 2024 security patch. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A16 is receiving an update with the code BYE2 with the November 2024 security patch.
Samsung is still gradually expanding the scope of deployment, and it is likely that users in other markets will soon receive the update in the near future. Although it is a major update that brings many changes in interface and performance, as usual, the Galaxy A15 and A16 will not have all the premium features of One UI 7, like the flagship models. In particular, Galaxy AI does not appear on these two devices.
Users can manually check for the new update by going to Settings, selecting Software update, and tapping Download and install. If your device is eligible, the update will appear soon.
