The One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series might stretch further into the year than initially anticipated, as Samsung is reportedly gearing up to roll out several more test builds before a stable release.
According to recent leaks, the tech giant could push as many as 10 beta versions for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. To date, Samsung has dropped eight beta updates, with the most recent one landing just about a week ago.
If the company sticks to its historical release cadence, the ninth and tenth betas are slated for April 9 and April 20, 2026, respectively. This extended timeline indicates that Samsung is still fine-tuning the software under the hood, pushing back the finish line many users were hoping was already in sight.
Notably, the Galaxy S25 FE was conspicuously absent from the initial beta rollout. The Fan Edition device only received its first taste of the beta on March 26, 2026—a significantly delayed start. This staggered entry means the S25 FE could theoretically continue receiving test builds even after the flagship trio concludes its testing phase.
However, a synchronized stable release for the entire Galaxy S25 lineup isn't completely off the table. Because the devices share the same core software architecture, Samsung could conceivably fast-track the FE's beta phase to align the update schedules.
While an official launch date for One UI 8.5 remains under wraps, industry whispers point to a stable rollout kicking off sometime around May 2026.
