Samsung has officially confirmed its roadmap for the One UI 8.5 release. The upcoming Galaxy S26 series is set to be the first to feature the software out of the box. Meanwhile, existing Galaxy devices are slated to receive the update only after the S26 hits the shelves, likely in the first half of 2026. Recent leaks suggest the wider rollout may not begin until late March.
In recent days, the first One UI 8.5 Beta has gone live for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in select markets. While additional beta builds are on the horizon, a stable release is not expected anytime soon. Notably, even the current Galaxy S25 lineup will have to wait until after the Galaxy S26 launch to receive the stable build.
Latest reports indicate that One UI 8.5 will officially launch alongside the Galaxy S26, with an announcement expected in late February and retail availability in March 2026. Samsung will subsequently commence a phased rollout for legacy devices.
Built on Android 16, One UI 8.5 promises a host of improvements across interface design, performance, and intelligent features. Samsung is doubling down on the Galaxy AI experience, boasting smoother generative image editing, deeper health analytics via Samsung Health, and fortified security layers.
The update also refines the user interface for a more seamless experience, evolving the design language established in One UI 7 and 8 while introducing practical features for the wider Galaxy ecosystem. SamCafe will continue to provide updates as Samsung releases more details on the One UI 8.5 deployment.
