In a surprise move, Samsung has officially rolled out the One UI 9.0 beta program for its flagship smartphone lineup. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra will be the first devices to get a taste of the new platform. This early rollout gives the tech giant ample time to iron out software bugs and polish the user experience ahead of a global release.

Starting this week, the beta program will go live in key markets, including South Korea, the US, India, the UK, Germany, and Poland. Galaxy S26 owners in these regions can sign up directly through the Samsung Members app. Once this initial testing phase wraps up, Samsung is expected to expand beta access to other eligible devices.

Built on Android 17, One UI 9 brings a major overhaul with deep customization options and breakthrough creative tools. A standout feature is the revamped Quick Panel, which now allows users to freely adjust the layout, cleanly separating brightness, volume, and media player controls to their liking. Security is also getting a significant boost; the system can proactively detect high-risk apps and recommend their removal to safeguard personal data.

Naturally, next-generation Galaxy AI features are front and center in this update. However, the fully-fledged version of One UI 9 isn't expected to launch until the latter half of the year, following the debut of Samsung's new foldable lineup.

For the general public, the official, stable update will gradually roll out to compatible devices once beta testing concludes. But for tech enthusiasts, snagging an early spot in the beta is a prime opportunity to explore the cutting-edge features Samsung has been developing for its ever-growing ecosystem.
