Samsung is reportedly developing a new variant for its foldable smartphone lineup, featuring a noticeably wider footprint than the current Galaxy Z Fold models. Recently, industry rumors have frequently drawn parallels between this unreleased device and Apple's highly anticipated first foldable iPhone.

Now, newly surfaced CAD renders are offering a much clearer look at the device. While Samsung has yet to confirm an official moniker, the smartphone is currently being tentatively dubbed the "Galaxy Z Fold Wide."

According to previous leaks, the device is expected to sport a 5.4-inch cover display and a massive 7.6-inch main screen, adopting a significantly wider aspect ratio compared to previous Fold generations. The CAD data corroborates this, revealing dimensions of approximately 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.9mm when unfolded, and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8mm when closed. This expanded screen real estate is heavily expected to enhance media consumption and the overall experience with tablet-optimized applications.

Under the hood, the "Fold Wide" is rumored to pack a robust 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Photography enthusiasts can look forward to a premium camera setup, allegedly headlining a massive 200MP primary sensor paired with a 50MP ultrawide lens.

While official hardware specifications remain strictly under wraps, there is no doubt this will be a top-tier flagship. Powering the device will likely be the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage to easily handle demanding performance needs.

Samsung is heavily tipped to unveil this new ultra-premium foldable in the second half of the year, sharing the spotlight with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
