After months of beta testing that kicked off late last year, Samsung is officially rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update to eligible devices. The initial wave targets 2025 flagship smartphones and foldables, debuting first in the South Korean market. Meanwhile, the latest generation of devices—such as the Galaxy S26, A57, and A37 series—already ship with this new software right out of the box.

Samsung quietly launched the official rollout campaign in early May. The first devices to receive the update notification were the Galaxy S25 lineup and the seventh-generation foldables. True to form, the tech giant will gradually expand this firmware drop to other regions, as well as mid-range and budget smartphones, over the coming weeks. The entire transition process is expected to wrap up by late July.

Here is the current roster of Galaxy devices that have officially received the stable One UI 8.5 update in at least one global market:

Galaxy S Series

  • Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, S25 FE

  • Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE

  • Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE

Galaxy Z Series

  • Galaxy Z TriFold

  • Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE

  • Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6

  • Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5

Galaxy A Series

  • Galaxy A36, A56

Galaxy Tab Series

  • Galaxy Tab S11, Tab S11 Ultra

  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE, Tab S10 FE+

Because this is a phased release that hinges on specific markets and network carriers, users in some regions might need to wait a few extra days for the OTA (over-the-air) notification to pop up. Built on Android 16, this new update promises a more intuitive interface coupled with buttery-smooth system animations.

To jump the queue, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As always, make sure your battery is sufficiently charged, back up your data, and keep your device cool before hitting install to ensure a seamless upgrade.
