Samsung has officially rolled out its latest One UI 8.5 Beta update to multiple devices. Beyond introducing Galaxy AI features borrowed from the upcoming Galaxy S26, the update quietly delivers a crucial fix for users who frequently share files across ecosystems.

Previously, Galaxy users noticed a frustrating quirk: photos transferred to iPhones via Quick Share often lost vital EXIF data, most notably location tags. Samsung later acknowledged the bug, suggesting the system was automatically stripping location data during the cross-platform transfer process.

Now, early testing confirms that the new One UI 8.5 Beta resolves this exact issue. Photos sent to Apple devices finally retain their original location data—a major win for photography enthusiasts and regular users who rely on complete metadata for organizing their galleries.

While some earlier reports also cited missing lens-related data during transfers, it remains unclear how widespread this secondary issue is, or whether the current update fully patches it.

With Samsung having released up to 10 beta versions of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25, the software refinement process appears to be in its final stages. Users can likely expect a stable, official rollout in the near future.
