Samsung is gearing up to roll out a major software update for the Galaxy S25 series this June. According to reliable leaks, this upcoming patch will finally bring two highly anticipated AI-powered notification features from the newer S26 lineup to older devices.
Specifically, the June update will introduce the "Notification Highlights" toolkit to the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra. As part of the Galaxy AI suite, this toolkit includes two key features: Priority Notifications and Notification Summaries. The priority tool automatically filters and pins crucial messages to the top of the screen. Meanwhile, the summary feature condenses lengthy chat threads into bite-sized, easy-to-read snippets.
Designed to combat information overload, these AI tools debuted earlier this year on the S26 series running One UI 8.5. However, Samsung surprisingly omitted them when rolling out the One UI 8.5 update for the S25 series, leaving many users disappointed. The upcoming June release is widely seen as a move to make amends. If the rumors hold true, this will be a substantial feature drop rather than a routine security patch.
Beyond notification management, the S25 series is still missing several other notable features from its successor. Highly requested additions include a 24-megapixel shooting mode in the native camera app, the AI-powered smart Finder, and the "Now Nudges" reminder tool. It remains unclear whether these capabilities will make the cut in the coming weeks.
