Following a somewhat sluggish rollout of its February and March security updates, Samsung is officially back on track this April. After initially pushing the latest patch to the Galaxy S26 and S25 series, the tech giant is now expanding the update to its foldable lineup.
Leading the charge are Samsung's newest foldables: the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 FE, and the innovative TriFold. As is tradition, South Korea is the first market to receive the April 2026 security patch, with firmware versions for these devices ending in AZCS.
The 2024 foldables aren't being left behind, either. The Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold Special Edition are also getting the update in South Korea, carrying firmware versions ending in CZCS.
While this update doesn't introduce any flashy new features, it’s a crucial one for user safety. The patch focuses on system stability and addresses over 40 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners, ensuring a safer and smoother overall experience.
Looking ahead, the next major update for several of these devices will likely be the stable release of One UI 8.5. With beta testing already underway in select markets, it's clear Samsung is putting the finishing touches on the new software before a wider rollout.
If you're based in South Korea, you can check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Just make sure your device has plenty of battery and isn't running unusually hot before hitting install to avoid any hiccups.
