Just days after deploying the highly anticipated One UI 8.5 update, Samsung is back with another software rollout for its 2025 foldable lineup. The latest update, which brings the May 2026 security patch, is currently hitting the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, and the innovative TriFold series, addressing dozens of critical system vulnerabilities.
Currently rolling out in South Korea with a firmware version ending in BZE1, the OTA (over-the-air) download weighs in at a modest sub-500MB for most models. Users in Vietnam and other international markets can expect the update to arrive in phases over the coming days.
Given that these devices just received the major One UI 8.5 overhaul, this latest release understandably skips new features to focus strictly on security. According to Samsung's security bulletin, the May patch resolves nearly 40 different vulnerabilities found within both the core Android OS and Samsung’s custom interface.
Samsung has already patched these specific security flaws on the flagship Galaxy S26 and S25 series, along with several mid-range smartphones. Older models, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and the Galaxy S24 lineup, are slated to receive the patch next.
In parallel with this security push, the tech giant continues to expand the reach of One UI 8.5 to its legacy devices. Originally debuting alongside the Galaxy S26, the software introduces significant interface revamps and new Galaxy AI tools. To check for the update manually, users can navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
