While the spotlight shifts toward the upcoming February 2026 security rollout, Samsung is still wrapping up last month’s patch distribution for its budget-friendly lineup. The latest beneficiaries are the Galaxy M34 and F34, which have started receiving the January 2026 security update in select regions.
Samsung is currently deploying the new patch with firmware versions M346BXXSAEZA2 for the Galaxy M34 and E346BXXSAEZA2 for the F34. Users in India are now receiving the update for both devices, while the rollout for the Galaxy M34 has also expanded to Sri Lanka.
The January 2026 security patch addresses over 50 security vulnerabilities across the Galaxy ecosystem, combining fixes from both Google’s Android core and Samsung’s proprietary software. Notably, the update patches four high-severity flaws identified by Google, significantly bolstering device security post-installation.
Galaxy M34 and F34 owners in these markets can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings > Software Update > Download and install. Once the download is complete, a quick restart will be required to finalize the installation.
Looking at the bigger picture, both models are eligible for four years of OS and security upgrades. Having launched with Android 13, these devices are slated to receive updates through to Android 17, likely accompanied by One UI 9. Before that milestone, One UI 8.5 is expected to be the next major feature drop for these handsets, though a specific release timeline has yet to be announced.
