Samsung has started rolling out its March 2026 security update for the Galaxy A56 and A55, with users in India being the first in line to receive the patch.

Designed to enhance system stability and everyday security, the latest patch addresses 65 vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. For the Galaxy A56, the update weighs in at approximately 380MB and carries firmware version A566EXXS9BZC6. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A55 is receiving a slightly smaller 300MB package with firmware A556EXXSDCZC4.

Owners of these devices can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. While the initial rollout is currently limited to India, Samsung is expected to expand the release to other regions shortly.

Beyond routine security maintenance, Samsung is also laying the groundwork for a major software overhaul. The tech giant is preparing to release One UI 8.5—based on Android 16 QPR2—to its mid-range lineup, including the A56 and A55. This upcoming major update promises a refreshed user interface and a host of new feature enhancements in the near future.
