Samsung has officially kicked off the rollout of the January 2026 security update for the Galaxy A56, starting with the South Korean market. As is customary, this update is expected to expand to other regions over the coming days and weeks, delivering critical patches for system security.

This latest firmware is strictly focused on system hardening. It integrates the January 2026 Android security patch, addressing over 50 vulnerabilities affecting both the Android core platform and Samsung’s proprietary software components. This follows the company's recent deployment of the same patch across various other Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

As expected, the update brings no changes to the user interface, features, or performance benchmarks. The Galaxy A56 is slated to receive the major One UI 8.5 update later this year. Samsung is currently beta testing the new operating system, with a stable release likely debuting alongside the Galaxy S26 series next month. A broader rollout for existing devices could begin as early as March or April.

In South Korea, where the device is marketed as the Galaxy Quantum 6, the update is arriving via OTA (Over-the-Air) with firmware version A566SKSS4BZA2. Samsung will likely push a similar update to international models soon, though firmware versions and file sizes may vary by market.

While the Galaxy A56 remains one of Samsung’s best value-for-money mid-rangers, it will soon make way for its successor. The Galaxy A57 is rumored to launch in the first half of February, boasting upgrades in specs, features, and a more compact design. The new model may be unveiled alongside the Galaxy A37 in the upcoming announcement.
