Samsung has officially kicked off the rollout of its first software update for the newly minted Galaxy S26 lineup, covering the S26, S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The update is currently live in South Korea, with a wider global release expected to follow in the coming days.
Out of the box, the Galaxy S26 series shipped with the January 2026 security patch. This latest update brings the flagship devices up to speed with the February 2026 patch, addressing 37 security vulnerabilities across the Android OS and Samsung's proprietary software. As the inaugural post-launch update, the focus is squarely on bolstering system security and refining overall stability.
In the South Korean market, the new firmware carries the build number S94*NKSS1AZC7. For Ultra owners, the download weighs in at approximately 557MB. This size suggests that alongside the crucial security fixes, Samsung may have quietly bundled in some minor under-the-hood performance optimizations.
While this particular rollout doesn't bring any flashy new features to the table, installing these early patches is vital for ensuring a smooth and secure user experience right out of the gate.
Users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Although Samsung has already detailed the contents of the March 2026 security patch, a widespread rollout hasn't begun just yet. The Galaxy S26 is highly likely to be front of the line for that next wave. In fact, depending on the region, some users might skip the February update entirely and jump straight to the March release.
