Samsung has just launched the One UI 8 Beta program for the Galaxy S23 series, giving users an early chance to experience Android 16. Currently, users in India and South Korea can participate, while the UK and the US will also receive the test update in the near future.

The three Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models have now joined the One UI 8 testing group, along with newer flagships such as the Galaxy S24, S25, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Flip 6. Not only that, Samsung also plans to expand the One UI 8 Beta to the Galaxy Tab S10, Fold 5, Flip 5, and some mid-range models this week.

The first release for the Galaxy S23 series is codenamed ZYHB, with an OTA size of more than 3GB. This is also the build that Samsung has just released for the Galaxy S24, S25, Fold 6, and Flip 6, showing that the company is synchronizing the software development process. In addition to the September security patch, this update focuses more on new features and performance improvements.

One UI 8 is based on Android 16, bringing a more intuitive and smoother interface, a smarter Galaxy AI system, and deeper personalization. Samsung also focuses on optimizing performance for faster multitasking, smoother motion effects, and longer battery life. The new version also enhances security and privacy features, giving users more peace of mind during use.

If you are using a Galaxy S23, S23+ or S23 Ultra (not applicable to the FE version) in India, Korea, the UK, or the  US, you can register to participate immediately via the Samsung Members app by selecting the One UI 8 Beta banner and following the instructions.

While the beta version is quite stable, there is still a chance of bugs in some apps. Samsung is expected to release the stable One UI 8 this month, but the Galaxy S23 series will probably have to wait until October to officially receive it.
