Samsung has just rolled out its July 2026 security patch, aiming to squash a series of critical vulnerabilities across the Android OS and its custom One UI. This release sets the stage for a widespread software rollout across Galaxy devices in the coming weeks.

At the heart of this update are fixes for 41 core system flaws flagged by Google, five of which are rated as highly critical. On top of that, Samsung’s software engineers have patched 16 security gaps exclusive to One UI, slamming the door on potential hackers.

Notably, the new patch completely fixes a major loophole in KnoxGuard that previously allowed attackers to bypass device locks and seize control. Privacy has also been heavily bolstered: the system now blocks unauthorized tampering with anti-theft features and strengthens encryption within the SmartThings app to protect sensitive user data. Plus, the risk of malicious actors exploiting wallpaper services or the clipboard to snoop on system files has been fully eliminated.

The update is currently gearing up for a global release. Galaxy owners can manually check for it by navigating to Settings > Software Update and tapping Download and install. For those already in the beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, this new patch will be baked right into the next beta release.
