Samsung is gearing up to release its next One UI 8.5 Beta update for a range of Galaxy devices. According to recent leaks, this update could bring direct file-sharing capabilities with Apple devices to the Galaxy S25 and S24—a highly anticipated feature previously introduced on the Galaxy S26 lineup.

The tech giant previously added Galaxy-to-Apple file sharing via Quick Share on the S26 through a software update. Samsung had confirmed plans to expand this functionality to other devices in the near future, and recent developments suggest that rollout is now actively underway.

Specifically, the feature was spotted in an internal One UI 8.5 Beta build (version ZZD1) running on the Galaxy S25 and S24 Ultra. This indicates that Samsung is rigorously testing the new sharing capabilities on its older flagship models.

Once activated, a "Share with Apple devices" option will appear directly within the Quick Share interface. The feature is expected to be enabled by default, requiring little to no manual setup from the user. In some instances, a Google Play Services update may be required to ensure stable and seamless performance.

In practice, the process is remarkably straightforward. When sending a file, nearby iPhones will automatically populate in the sharing list. Users simply select the target device and hit send, while the recipient gets a confirmation prompt much like Apple's own AirDrop.

While Samsung has yet to announce an official release date for the next One UI 8.5 Beta, the update is widely expected to drop later this month. If the current timeline holds, this will mark the eighth beta release for the Galaxy S25 and the second for the Galaxy S24.

This addition highlights Samsung's ongoing commitment to improving cross-ecosystem connectivity, acknowledging the reality that modern consumers frequently juggle devices across different tech platforms.
