Samsung Electronics is embarking on a massive recruitment drive to staff its robotics operations center, signaling the tech giant's aggressive effort to expand its footprint in this high-potential sector.

Specifically, Samsung’s Device Experience (DX) division closes internal applications today for its robotics business acceleration team. Formed late last year after Samsung became the largest shareholder of Rainbow Robotics, the unit has been hosting in-depth briefing sessions on core projects and roles to attract top-tier talent. The team currently oversees all next-generation robotics initiatives, including the development of humanoid robots.

During the company's recent first-quarter earnings call, Samsung representatives highlighted plans to bolster in-house capabilities. CFO Park Soon-cheol stated that the conglomerate is pooling resources to internally develop custom components, aiming to reduce reliance on third-party suppliers. Samsung’s strategic roadmap prioritizes perfecting industrial factory robots before expanding into the consumer and retail sectors.

Beyond robotics, the company is also aggressively headhunting experts for AI transformation roles, ranging from strategic management to core software development. This move is seen as a crucial stepping stone toward realizing Samsung's vision of an ecosystem where robotics and artificial intelligence seamlessly converge.
