Samsung Ramps Up One UI 8.5 Development: Galaxy A24 and F54 Join the Testing Phase

Samsung is accelerating its preparations for the One UI 8.5 update, with the Galaxy A24 and Galaxy F54 becoming the latest devices to surface with internal test builds. This move confirms that both mid-range contenders are officially on the roadmap for the next major interface overhaul.

Following the Galaxy A25, the Galaxy A24 has now entered the testing phase. The device was spotted on Samsung’s test servers across Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and the UAE, carrying the firmware version A245FXXU9FZA1. This indicates Samsung is actively refining One UI 8.5 for its budget-friendly lineup, joining other recently spotted affordable models like the Galaxy A06, A07, and A15 4G.

Concurrently, the Galaxy F54 has registered its first One UI 8.5 build on servers in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Identified by the build number E546BXXU9FZA1, this marks the F54 as a key priority for the F-series upgrade cycle. It follows the Galaxy M54, which was the first of the M-series to be associated with One UI 8.5 development.

Both the A24 and F54 launched in 2023, originally shipping with Android 13-based One UI 5.1. Having received the One UI 8 update just a few months ago, they remain well within their support lifecycle. Under Samsung's update commitment, both phones are eligible for four major Android OS upgrades, ensuring they will eventually receive Android 17.

One UI 8.5 is anticipated to bring significant visual refinements and new features, offering a more polished experience compared to One UI 8. While the beta program is currently live for the flagship Galaxy S25 series in select markets, the stable rollout for eligible devices is expected to commence shortly after the launch of the Galaxy S26.
