After facing user backlash last year over irregular Google Play system updates, Samsung and Google have significantly ramped up their patch release schedule.

In April and May alone, Galaxy devices received four separate Google Play system updates—averaging two per month. This momentum has carried into June, with a new update rolling out earlier this month and yet another one arriving just now. This marks an impressive six system updates in a span of just three months.

Observations on the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra reveal that the latest data package weighs in at approximately 98MB. Interestingly, despite its early June rollout, the system still displays a May 1, 2026, patch date—identical to the previous release.

To check for and install the update, users can navigate to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play system update. As of now, neither Google nor Samsung has released official release notes detailing the specific changes or new features included in this rollout.
