Samsung is inching closer to a stable release, rolling out what appears to be one of the final test builds—One UI 8.5 Beta 8—for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. The update is currently live for users in Germany.

Weighing in at a substantial 928.84MB, the firmware (version S93xBXXU8ZZCD) doesn't just squash bugs; it also bundles the March 2026 security patch, addressing 65 known vulnerabilities.

This latest iteration brings a healthy mix of new features, performance tweaks, and system-level fixes. Notably, the native Gallery app now curates "Stories" organized by month, quarter, and year, offering a more intuitive way to take a trip down memory lane.

Under the hood, Samsung has ironed out a slew of camera and system glitches. Users should no longer experience preview errors when watching cloud-stored videos, failures to revert to original photos after tweaking resolutions in Studio, or that annoying screen flicker when real-time notification cards update.

The changelog also highlights fixes for stubborn bubble notification icons that wouldn't disappear, missing clock shortcuts when the screen turns off during a Now Brief session, and incorrect date displays stemming from corrupted video metadata.

Third-party app stability gets a much-needed boost as well. Samsung has resolved issues causing broken or failed image captures while scrolling in Naver Map, along with a frustrating bug that prevented folder copying when connected to shared storage on the Galaxy Book 4.

Enrolled Galaxy S25 owners can grab the new beta by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. With Beta 8 out in the wild, industry watchers expect Samsung to pull the plug on the beta program soon, paving the way for an imminent stable rollout.

Interestingly, while the tech world awaits the public release of One UI 8.5, the South Korean giant isn't resting on its laurels. Reports suggest development is already underway for Android 17-based One UI 9.0, signaling an aggressive push to accelerate software development across the Galaxy ecosystem.
