After numerous leaks about One UI 8.5 beta, we finally have our first look at Priority Notifications – a small but promising change that will help users not miss important notifications amid the barrage of information that pops up every day.

Last week, the “Prioritize notifications” option was first spotted in One UI 8.5 beta firmware, but the feature was not yet functional. Now, in the latest leaked firmware, the feature is officially operational, allowing us to see how Samsung will display priority notifications in the upcoming interface version.

As described in the settings section, the feature helps “show important notifications above other notifications to make sure you don’t miss them.” Users can customize which apps are allowed to display priority notifications, and Samsung asserts that all notification data will be processed directly on the device, ensuring privacy.

The leaked images show that priority notifications are highlighted and displayed at the top of the notification panel, accompanied by a soft light effect and a Galaxy AI-style gradient. This may become the new display standard in One UI 8.5, making important notifications stand out more without disrupting the overall minimalist design of the interface.

While Samsung has not officially announced a launch date, previous reports said that the One UI 8.5 Beta testing program was scheduled to start in late November, but it may have been delayed now. The stable version of One UI 8.5 is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series, which may be later than usual.
