Fresh off the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is keeping up its software support for older devices. The tech giant has started rolling out the February 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, addressing lingering vulnerabilities from the previous OS version.

The update is currently making its debut in South Korea. Weighing in at roughly 441.78MB, it carries the firmware version S91xNKSS7EZB2. If Samsung’s usual rollout patterns hold true, users in other markets should see the patch hit their devices in the coming days.

This month's patch tackles 37 specific security flaws, boosting overall system stability and safety. It's strictly a maintenance update, meaning users won't find any new features this time around. To check if the update is available, Galaxy S23 owners can navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Looking ahead, the Galaxy S23 series is also in line for a major software overhaul. At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled One UI 8.5—based on Android 16 QPR2—alongside the new S26 lineup. The upcoming firmware promises a refreshed interface and a host of feature improvements, with the S23 officially on the eligibility list.

While an exact timeline hasn't been pinned down, One UI 8.5 is expected to roll out gradually in the near future. Premium models like the Galaxy S and Z series are typically first in line, followed by mid-range devices across the A, M, and F series.
